What's Happening?
DPM Metals Inc. has reported significant results from its delineation drilling at the Wedge Zone Deep prospect within the Chelopech mine concession. The drilling has revealed high-grade mineralization, with notable intercepts such as 58 meters grading
15.28 g/t AuEq and 81 meters grading 8.05 g/t AuEq. These results extend the mineralized zone to approximately 170 meters along strike, 130 meters in width, and 300 meters in vertical extent. The Wedge Zone Deep target remains open for further exploration, and DPM plans to continue drilling throughout 2026. An initial mineral resource estimate is expected by the end of the year, which will be part of the Chelopech annual Mineral Resource and Mineral Reserve update.
Why It's Important?
The discovery of high-grade mineralization at the Wedge Zone Deep prospect is significant for DPM Metals as it could enhance the value and lifespan of the Chelopech mine. The high gold grades, which are more than double the existing reserve grade, suggest potential for increased production and profitability. This development is crucial for DPM's strategic objective to become a mid-tier precious metals company. The ongoing exploration and potential resource expansion could attract investor interest and support the company's growth strategy. Additionally, the ability to process the mineralization using existing infrastructure at Chelopech could lead to cost efficiencies and improved financial performance.
What's Next?
DPM Metals plans to continue its drilling program at the Wedge Zone Deep prospect to further define the mineralized zone and assess its potential to extend the life of the Chelopech mine. The company is also conducting technical studies to support future engineering and investment decisions. These include geotechnical assessments and metallurgical testwork to evaluate the feasibility of mining the newly discovered resources. The results of these studies, along with the anticipated mineral resource estimate, will inform DPM's strategic planning and potential expansion efforts.
