Preservation Distillery, located near Bardstown, Kentucky, has released a new bourbon under its Rare Perfection brand. The 10-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey, part of the 'Vintage Hermitage Collection,' is distilled from a traditional corn/rye/malted
barley mashbill. This release, dubbed 'Vintage 2016,' is composed of 3-barrel micro batches blended by Marci Palatella and Kyle Lloyd. The bourbon is bottled at cask strength, with the sampled bottle at 130.7 proof. The bourbon features a complex flavor profile with notes of cherry candy, cinnamon sugar, and black walnut extract, balanced by a viscous mouthfeel. The release is priced at $220, reflecting its premium positioning.
