What's Happening?
DRIFT Energy has partnered with Enapter to develop a marinized version of Enapter's Anion Exchange Membrane (AEM) electrolyzer technology for offshore hydrogen production. This collaboration aims to adapt the electrolyzer for use in marine environments,
making it suitable for installation on ships and other offshore platforms. The project will focus on creating a robust design that can withstand the challenging conditions at sea, with the first unit expected to be ready by 2027. Enapter, known for its expertise in AEM electrolysis, will conduct the main development work at its facility in Pisa, Italy. The partnership is part of DRIFT's broader strategy to enhance its energy storage capabilities and expand its fleet of energy ships.
