What's Happening?
The Philippine Die and Mould Association (PDMA), in collaboration with Informa Markets, has announced the 12th Philippine Die and Mould Machineries and Equipment Exhibition (PDMEX) scheduled for July 23
to 25, 2026, at the World Trade Center Metro Manila in Pasay City. This event is dedicated to the metalworking supply chain and manufacturing sector, aiming to showcase innovations and foster growth in the local manufacturing industry. PDMEX 2026 will feature over 200 exhibitors and is expected to attract approximately 13,000 visitors, including manufacturers, engineers, and industry decision-makers. The exhibition will highlight advancements in die and mould technology, precision manufacturing equipment, and metalworking solutions. Key government agencies and industry organizations are supporting the event, ensuring it connects effectively with the broader manufacturing community.
Why It's Important?
PDMEX 2026 is significant as it represents a strategic effort to enhance the competitiveness of the Philippine manufacturing industry on a global scale. The event aims to drive innovation and knowledge transfer, strengthening the supply chain economy and building a skilled community. The local steel market, a critical component of the manufacturing sector, is experiencing active expansion driven by increasing domestic infrastructure and construction demand. This growth trajectory is expected to generate substantial demand for sophisticated die and mould solutions, essential for producing precision components that meet international quality standards. The exhibition's success could lead to increased foreign investment, technological advancement, and sustainable growth in the manufacturing sector.
What's Next?
As PDMEX 2026 approaches, stakeholders in the manufacturing industry are likely to prepare for the event by developing and showcasing their latest innovations. The participation of key government agencies, such as the Department of Science and Technology – Metals Industry Research and Development Center (DOST-MIRDC), will bring cutting-edge research and development initiatives to the forefront. The collaboration between PDMA and government agencies is expected to ensure that training curricula, R&D programs, and facility support align with the real needs of the die and mould industry. This alignment will support sustainable growth and enhance the technical capabilities of the workforce, potentially leading to increased competitiveness in the global market.
