A certified personal trainer, James Brady, has shared four standing exercises aimed at reducing belly overhang for individuals over the age of 55. These exercises focus on increasing overall energy expenditure and strengthening muscles that improve posture,

Standing exercises, however, require the body to stabilize itself upright against gravity, recruiting more muscle groups and increasing calorie expenditure. Brady's recommended exercises include standing knee drives, standing wood chops, side leg raises, and standing marches with arm swings.
