Global operator Sparkle and Bolivian state-owned telco Entel have signed a memorandum of understanding to create a new terrestrial fiber route connecting Lima, Peru, and São Paulo, Brazil. The 4,370 km route aims to provide a low-latency alternative to existing
subsea cables, enhancing connectivity for gaming companies, ISPs, OTT platforms, and data centers. This initiative is part of a broader effort to improve digital infrastructure across South America, addressing the growing demand for scalable and resilient connectivity.
