Luis Liberato, a former prospect of the San Diego Padres, has signed with the Fubon Guardians of the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) in Taiwan. Liberato, who made his Major League debut with the Padres in 2022,
struggled to make a significant impact, going hitless in seven plate appearances. Originally signed as an international free agent by the Seattle Mariners in 2012, Liberato has spent much of his career in the minor leagues. In 2025, he played for the Hanwha Eagles in South Korea and the Diablos Rojos del Mexico. His recent performance in the Dominican Winter League, where he hit .321 with a home run and six RBIs, has been noteworthy.
