What's Happening?
Forestry England's Westonbirt, The National Arboretum, is inviting visitors to explore the wonders of spring through a series of new trails and activities. The arboretum is offering a variety of spring-themed experiences, including the 'Best Kept Secrets'
family trail and 'The Birds and the Bees and Trees' exploration, both running from March 1 to May 31. These activities aim to educate visitors about the science of tree reproduction and the unique characteristics of spring flora. Additional events include nature journal activity days, guided walks, and interactive family trails featuring beloved characters from literature.
Why It's Important?
The spring activities at Westonbirt Arboretum provide an educational and recreational opportunity for families and nature enthusiasts to engage with the environment. By highlighting the ecological significance of trees and their reproductive processes, the arboretum fosters a deeper appreciation for biodiversity and conservation. These initiatives also support local tourism and community engagement, encouraging visitors to explore natural spaces and learn about environmental stewardship. The events contribute to the arboretum's mission of preserving plant and animal life, while also offering a platform for cultural and educational enrichment.
