What's Happening?
A new utility named NV-UV has been developed for NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 series graphics cards, offering a simplified approach to undervolting. Created by community developer cubi2k82, NV-UV functions as a companion app to MSI Afterburner, rather than replacing
it. This tool addresses the limitations imposed by Blackwell, which no longer allows direct write access to the VF curve through NVAPI, making manual undervolting more cumbersome. NV-UV introduces presets and automation, including Eco, Balanced, Performance, and Max settings, along with manual adjustment options. A notable feature is the UV-Pilot mode, which automatically applies undervolt profiles for supported games. The tool also includes an Auto-UV scanner with a DX12 and DXR stress test, live telemetry, and a crash recovery system. Currently, NV-UV supports over 570 games and is compatible with GeForce RTX 5090, RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti, and RTX 5070 graphics cards.
