What's Happening?
Twenty-one community organizations across North America have been confirmed as part of Play Collective, a collaborative initiative by the adidas Foundation, Beyond Sport, and Common Goal. The program aims to strengthen inclusive youth sport participation
and create a lasting legacy beyond the FIFA World Cup 2026. Backed by a $4.87 million investment, Play Collective will provide multi-year funding, learning support, and access to a collaborative network for organizations in FIFA World Cup 2026 host city regions. The selected partners represent diverse groups using sport, play, and recreation as tools for social change, ranging from sports programs for participants with disabilities to mentorship opportunities for children facing serious illness.
Why It's Important?
The Play Collective initiative is significant as it promotes inclusive youth sport participation and aims to create a lasting legacy beyond the FIFA World Cup 2026.
