What's Happening?
Alyssa Ton and Connor Ohl delivered standout performances at the CIF Southern Section Division 1 swimming finals held at Mt. San Antonio College. Ton, a junior from Fountain Valley High, dominated the distance freestyle events, winning the 200 and 500-yard
freestyle races. She secured her third CIF title in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:45.15 and repeated as the 500 free champion with a time of 4:44.26. Despite recovering from a knee injury, Ton's performance was impressive, showcasing her resilience and determination. Connor Ohl, a senior from Newport Harbor, excelled in the sprint events, winning the 50-yard freestyle in 19.96 seconds and tying for first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 44.32 seconds. Ohl's achievements highlight his potential as he prepares to join Stanford University's water polo team. Other notable performances included Peter Vu's victory in the 200 IM and Ethan Lim's win in the 100 breaststroke.
