Addie Edwards, a standout pitcher for the Northeast Alabama Community College softball team, has been named the Alabama Sports Writers Association (ASWA) Community College Athlete of the Year. Edwards, a freshman from Chatsworth, Georgia, played a pivotal
role in leading her team to both the Alabama Community College Conference championship and the National Junior College Athletic Association Division I national championship. Her remarkable performance included pitching every inning of the national tournament, earning her the title of Most Valuable Player. Edwards finished the season with an impressive 34-0 record and an earned run average of 1.12, striking out 219 batters over 211.2 innings. Her achievements will be recognized at the ASWA’s annual awards banquet at Jacksonville State University.
