The Texas Sports Hall of Fame in Waco is celebrating its 75th anniversary by inducting a diverse class of nine members during a banquet at the Extraco Event Center. The inductees represent a wide range of sports, including pro and college football, college basketball,
barrel racing, and speed skating. Notable inductees include Cowboys' nine-time Pro Bowl guard Zack Martin, Texas A&M star linebacker Von Miller, and TCU's long-time coach Gary Patterson. Other honorees include soccer star Clint Dempsey, rodeo athlete Charmayne James, and speed skater Chad Hedrick. The 1966 Texas Western Miners basketball team, known for being the first NCAA champion with an all-Black starting lineup, is also being honored.
