What's Happening?
Atlético de Madrid is modernizing the Riyadh Air Metropolitano Stadium's connectivity with a new intelligent, self-driving network infrastructure based on HPE Networking solutions. This project, spanning the 2025/26 and 2026/27 seasons, aims to completely overhaul the stadium's communications system. The new infrastructure will feature over 1,500 next-generation Wi-Fi 7 wireless access points managed through HPE Aruba Central, an AIOps platform that uses artificial intelligence to optimize network performance. The system will also integrate energy-saving features and advanced analytics to enhance the fan experience. Additionally, a dedicated network for audiovisual production over IP is being deployed, designed to protect high-bitrate traffic
typical of video broadcasts. This initiative is part of a broader technological transformation that includes other club facilities, with work scheduled to begin in 2026.
