China Mobile has launched its self-developed robot dog, Lingxi, marking a significant milestone in the telecommunications industry. Lingxi is designed as a silicon-based pet capable of fulfilling various companion roles, such as a child's playmate or
a caregiver for the elderly. The robot integrates human-like interaction and scenario-based services, including touch interaction, health management, emotional feedback, and interactive education. Equipped with advanced technologies like UWB, RTK, LiDAR sensors, and a wide-angle camera, Lingxi can recognize its owner, follow them, and navigate complex environments. Currently available only in Beijing, Lingxi is priced at 35,000 Chinese yuan (approximately $5,120), which is significantly higher than other consumer robots. This development positions China Mobile as a leader in the robotics sector, aiming to build a unified platform to connect and manage various types of robots.
