The Qatar Film Committee has announced new partnerships with Neon and Department M during the Doha Film Festival. These collaborations aim to co-develop and produce six to ten feature films and short films over
the next four years. The committee, established in 2022 under Media City Qatar, is led by Hassan Al Thawadi, who previously organized the Qatar World Cup. The partnership with Department M will focus on a biopic about 'Caesar,' a Syrian military officer who exposed human rights abuses in Syrian prisons. The project will be co-produced with Katara Studios and distributed by Neon, with support from Sard Media group. The festival has attracted international cinema professionals, including A24 co-founder Daniel Katz and AGC Studios CEO Stuart Ford.
