What's Happening?
Viking has announced the float out of two new Nile River vessels, the Viking Ptah and Viking Sekhmet, at a shipyard in Cairo. This marks the beginning of the final construction phase for these ships, which are set to debut in September and November 2026,
respectively. The new ships will join Viking's existing fleet in Egypt, offering the 12-day Pharaohs & Pyramids itinerary. This itinerary includes a combination of land and river experiences, featuring visits to iconic sites such as the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Valley of the Kings. Viking's expansion reflects the growing interest in Nile River cruises and the company's commitment to providing luxurious travel experiences.
