What's Happening?
Nexteer Automotive has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in Rayong, Thailand, marking its first production site in the country. This expansion is part of Nexteer's strategy to optimize its global manufacturing footprint and meet the increasing
demand for advanced motion control technologies in Southeast Asia. The facility, which spans 5,000 square meters, will initially focus on producing Column-Assist Electric Power Steering (CEPS) systems. This move strengthens Nexteer's position as a key supplier to Chinese OEMs expanding in the region and enhances its ability to support local customers. The company aims to leverage this facility to further capitalize on growth opportunities in the APAC region.
Why It's Important?
The opening of this facility is a strategic move for Nexteer, as it positions the company to better serve the rapidly growing automotive markets in Southeast Asia. By expanding its manufacturing capabilities in Thailand, Nexteer can improve its responsiveness to local OEMs and strengthen its competitive edge in the region. This development also reflects broader trends in the automotive industry, such as the shift towards electrification and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). As Nexteer continues to innovate and expand its product offerings, it is likely to play a significant role in shaping the future of mobility in the APAC region.
