What's Happening?
Lodestar Minerals has discovered five new copper and gold targets at the Aguila prospect within the Los Loros Porphyry Project in Chile. This discovery follows geophysical surveys, including induced polarisation
and magnetotelluric surveys, which identified targets ranging from 150m to 800m below the surface. Historical drilling had already indicated potential, with significant copper equivalent intercepts. The new targets align with surface expressions and previous drilling, suggesting a fully preserved porphyry system. Lodestar plans to commence a drilling campaign targeting both copper-molybdenum porphyry and high-grade epithermal gold systems.
Why It's Important?
The identification of new mineral targets is crucial for Lodestar Minerals as it enhances the potential for significant resource development at the Los Loros Project. This discovery could lead to increased exploration and investment in the region, potentially boosting the local economy and contributing to the global supply of copper and gold. The success of this project could also position Lodestar as a key player in the mining industry, particularly in the lucrative Chilean mining sector known for its rich mineral deposits.
What's Next?
Lodestar plans to start its first drilling campaign at the Los Loros Project, focusing on the newly identified targets. The company will also review data from its Three Saints Project, which has shown potential for a large IOCG system. These steps are part of Lodestar's broader strategy to develop its portfolio of assets in Chile, Australia, and the US, aiming to capitalize on the discovery potential within its projects.
