Gertrude Fleishmann Schaffran, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away suddenly at the age of 93 on April 7, 2026. Born in Lenzing, Austria, she moved to the United States in 1955 with her husband Erwin and their young
son. The family settled in Cincinnati, Ohio, where they welcomed their second son. Gertrude retired as a supervisor from Leather Specialty in 1995 and relocated to Appling, Georgia, with her husband to enjoy their retirement. She was an active member of the German Club and was known for her baking. Gertrude is survived by her son William, several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at St. Teresa of Avila Parish in Grovetown on May 11, 2026.
