What's Happening?
The 59th Carnegie International has revealed its list of participating artists for the upcoming exhibition, set to open in May. Curated by Danielle A. Jackson, Ryan Inouye, and Liz Park, the exhibition titled 'If the word we' will explore the concept of the first-person plural as an evolving proposition. Of the 61 artists and teams announced, 36 will present newly commissioned works, marking a record for the event. The exhibition will feature a diverse range of artists, including Georges Adéagbo, Torkwase Dyson, and Wu Tsang, among others.
Why It's Important?

artists. The inclusion of a diverse group of artists reflects the exhibition's dedication to representing a wide range of perspectives and artistic practices. This approach not only enriches the cultural landscape but also provides artists with a platform to reach new audiences and engage with contemporary issues.
What's Next?
As the exhibition prepares to open, anticipation will build around the newly commissioned works and how they address the theme of collective identity. The Carnegie International's impact on the art world will be closely watched, as it often sets trends and influences future exhibitions. The success of this year's event could lead to increased support for contemporary art and further opportunities for artists to explore innovative ideas.
