What's Happening?
The Chartered Management Consultant (ChMC) accreditation, a professional standard for management consultants, is celebrating its five-year anniversary. The accreditation, developed by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and the Management Consultancies
Association, aims to elevate the consulting profession by establishing rigorous professional and ethical standards. Since its inception, the ChMC accreditation has gained significant traction, with 5,000 consultants currently on the journey and 2,500 fully Chartered. The accreditation has been adopted by nearly 50 firms, providing them with a competitive edge by ensuring that their consultants meet high professional standards.
Why It's Important?
The ChMC accreditation is significant as it brings a level of standardization and credibility to the management consulting industry, similar to that seen in professions like law and accounting. By setting high standards, the accreditation helps dispel myths about the consulting industry and enhances its reputation. For firms, having Chartered consultants can be a differentiator in a competitive market, as clients are assured of receiving high-quality service. The accreditation also supports the professional development of consultants, contributing to the overall growth and improvement of the industry.
