Consumer Reports has released its latest reliability study for used cars, ranking 26 auto brands based on models from 2016 to 2021. Tesla was ranked last, with a reliability score of 31, due to common
issues such as suspension, electronics, and build quality problems. The study highlights that these issues were primarily found in early production runs of the Model S and Model X, manufactured during Tesla's 'production hell' phase between 2014 and 2019. In contrast, Lexus, Toyota, and Mazda were ranked as the most reliable brands, with scores of 77, 73, and 58, respectively.
