What's Happening?
The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) has launched an upgraded version of its PATAmPOWER tourism data platform during the PATA Annual Summit 2026 in Korea. This enhanced platform features a modernized
interface and dashboard design, along with improved filtering, visualization, and export capabilities. PATAmPOWER consolidates tourism data for the Asia Pacific region, providing access to monthly international visitor arrivals, annual visitor profile data, average visitor expenditure, and monthly scheduled inbound flight frequency and seat capacity over a 12-month horizon. The platform also includes forecasts by origin market and other tourism-related datasets. It is designed to support governments, destination management organizations, national tourism organizations, the aviation and hospitality sectors, researchers, and analysts. PATA collaborates with official government tourism authorities and OAG as its official data providers.
Why It's Important?
The enhancement of the PATAmPOWER platform underscores the growing importance of data-driven decision-making in the tourism and hospitality sectors. By providing comprehensive and accessible data, the platform aids stakeholders in making informed decisions that can enhance tourism strategies and operations. This is particularly significant for the Asia Pacific region, which is a major hub for international tourism. The improved platform can help governments and businesses better understand tourism trends, optimize resource allocation, and improve visitor experiences. Additionally, the platform's ability to forecast tourism trends can help stakeholders anticipate changes in the market and adjust their strategies accordingly, potentially leading to increased economic benefits for the region.
What's Next?
Organizations interested in becoming data provider partners for the PATAmPOWER platform are encouraged to contact the PATA Project Management team for further discussion. As the platform continues to evolve, it is likely that more data sets will be integrated, further enhancing its utility for stakeholders. The ongoing development of the platform may also lead to new partnerships and collaborations, expanding its reach and impact. Additionally, as more organizations utilize the platform, there may be increased opportunities for innovation in tourism data analysis and application.
