What's Happening?
Severson Dells Nature Center is set to change its name to Wild Roots Nature Center on July 1, 2026. The rebranding reflects the organization's growth and its operation of two nature centers: one at Severson Dells Forest Preserve and another at a former
golf course. The name 'Wild Roots' symbolizes the center's commitment to hands-on learning in nature and its stability within the community. Despite the name change, the center will continue its mission to inspire conservation through education and stewardship, offering science-based activities for all ages.
Why It's Important?
The rebranding to Wild Roots Nature Center signifies a strategic move to enhance community engagement and broaden the center's appeal. By adopting a name that emphasizes both wild exploration and rooted stability, the organization aims to strengthen its identity and mission. This change is expected to attract more visitors and participants, fostering a deeper connection to nature and encouraging conservation efforts. The continued focus on education and stewardship aligns with environmental priorities, promoting sustainable practices and awareness within the community.
