Century Aluminum Company has expanded its Mt Holly plant in South Carolina, increasing US primary aluminum production by 10%. The expansion has created 125 permanent jobs and solidified Century's position as the largest producer of primary aluminum in the US.
The company plans further growth through a partnership with Emirates Global Aluminium to build a new smelter in Oklahoma, which will double current US capacity and create thousands of jobs.
