What's Happening?
Prereq, a new skincare brand co-created by two mothers and 50 teens, has launched a line of products designed for the active lifestyles of teenagers. The brand emphasizes portability and sustainability, with products that are leakproof, reusable, and refillable. The initial offerings include the Reset Mode Deo Multi-Mist and the Giving Me Life Hydro-Mist, both dermatologist-approved and rated safe by the Environmental Working Group. The Multi-Mist is an aluminum-free deodorant that neutralizes odor and strengthens the skin barrier, while the Hydro-Mist provides hydration and protection against environmental stressors. The brand's development involved direct input from teens to ensure the products meet their needs.
Why It's Important?
Prereq's launch addresses a gap
in the skincare market by providing products specifically tailored to the needs of teenagers, who often struggle to find suitable options. By involving teens in the development process, the brand ensures that its products are relevant and effective for its target audience. The focus on sustainability and portability aligns with growing consumer demand for environmentally friendly and convenient products. This approach not only meets the practical needs of teens but also educates them on responsible skincare practices. Prereq's success could inspire other brands to adopt similar co-creation models and sustainability initiatives.
