Oscar-nominated actor Sigourney Weaver has confirmed her participation in the upcoming live-action Tomb Raider series on Prime Video. She will be joining the cast alongside Sophie Turner, who plays the iconic character Lara Croft. Weaver expressed her excitement about working with writer-producer Phoebe Waller-Bridge, praising the scripts as 'incredible, funny, charming, and witty.' Weaver will portray a character named Wallace, a new addition to the Tomb Raider universe. The series is set to begin filming in January 2026. In addition to the TV series, two new Tomb Raider games were announced at The Game Awards: a remake of the 1996 game titled Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, set for release in 2026, and a new game called Tomb Raider: Catalyst,
expected in 2027.
