Little Joy Coffee, a small coffee shop in Northfield, Minnesota, has initiated a global movement by sharing the recipe for its popular Raspberry Danish Latte with other independent coffee shops. The initiative began with a social media video that was
part of the cafe's 'DIY or Buy' series, which evaluates whether certain drinks should be made at home or purchased. The video, featuring the latte made with housemade raspberry syrup, whole milk, espresso, and cream cheese cold foam, encouraged other cafes to adopt the recipe. As a result, over 400 coffee shops across 24 countries have started offering the drink. The owner, Cody Larson, believes that by sharing the recipe, independent shops can collectively improve their market presence against larger chains.
