What's Happening?
NatWest Group is enhancing its Financial Foundations program by introducing a new workshop focused on investing skills. This initiative aims to demystify investing for UK consumers, with a target to reach 50,000 people by 2026. The program, which has
been running since 2024, has already helped over 31,000 individuals improve their financial literacy. The new workshops will be delivered in workplaces, charities, and community groups, covering essential skills such as budgeting, saving, and planning for the future. NatWest plans to train an additional 300 colleagues to facilitate these sessions, expanding its reach across the UK.
Why It's Important?
The expansion of NatWest's financial literacy program underscores the growing recognition of investing as a critical skill for financial well-being. By equipping individuals with the knowledge and confidence to make informed investment decisions, NatWest is contributing to broader economic stability and individual financial security. This initiative also aligns with efforts to address financial exclusion and empower consumers to participate more fully in the economy. As financial literacy becomes increasingly important in navigating complex financial landscapes, programs like NatWest's play a vital role in fostering economic resilience.
