What's Happening?
Three members of the Columbus Blue Jackets are set to participate in the 2026 IIHF World Championship, which will be held in Zurich and Fribourg, Switzerland from May 15-31. Goaltender Jet Greaves and defenseman Denton Mateychuk will represent Canada,
while forward Mathieu Olivier will play for the United States. Greaves, making his international debut, had a successful season with a 26-19-9 record and a 2.60 goals-against average. Mateychuk, also debuting at the World Championships, has previously won a gold medal at the 2021 IIHF U18 World Championships. Olivier, representing the U.S. for the first time, led his team in penalty minutes and hits this past season.
