Sarah Draht, a two-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion, won the North Okanagan Enterprize Challenge with her business, StrongHER Self-Defense. The competition, held at the Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre, featured six finalists pitching
their business ideas to a panel of judges. Draht's business aims to empower women through self-defense classes, drawing from her martial arts background. Her energetic presentation captivated the audience, even overcoming technical difficulties when her microphone failed. Draht's victory includes a business services prize package worth over $24,000, which will help expand her business. The competition also recognized other innovative business ideas, such as Frog Pockets and Pocket Grandson, which received second and third place, respectively.
