Author Curtis Chin is set to appear at the Great Michigan Read event in Port Huron on April 16, 2026. The event, hosted at the Don Dodge Auditorium, will feature Chin discussing his memoir, 'Everything I Learned, I Learned in a Chinese Restaurant,' which
explores his experiences growing up as a gay Chinese-American in 1980s Detroit. The event is part of the Great Michigan Read spring tour, organized by Michigan Humanities and supported by various partners, including the Library of Michigan. Following the discussion, an afterglow party will be held at the Blue Water Ally Center.
