Uranium Energy Corp (UEC) has commenced production at its Burke Hollow project in Texas, marking the first new in-situ recovery (ISR) uranium mine in the U.S. in over a decade. This development follows approval from the Texas Commission on Environmental
Quality. The Burke Hollow site, which spans 20,000 acres, is set to process its uranium at UEC's Hobson Central Processing Plant, licensed to produce up to four million pounds of uranium annually. UEC's president and CEO, Amir Adnani, highlighted the significance of this achievement, noting the company's strategy to expand its domestic uranium production capabilities. The project is part of UEC's broader plan to support the U.S. nuclear fuel supply chain, with additional operations planned, including the Ludeman ISR project set to start in 2027.
