The Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) has committed $6 million to support Nexio Power's development of a propane-powered commercial vehicle platform. This funding will aid in obtaining Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and California Air
Resources Board (CARB) certification for Nexio's Class 7 trucks, which feature a 7.2-litre supercharged V8 engine. The trucks are designed to offer significant fuel savings compared to diesel, with Nexio projecting annual savings of $25,000 per truck. The initiative aims to expand the use of propane in medium-duty fleets, reducing reliance on diesel and supporting decarbonization efforts.
