What's Happening?
The LA28 Olympic organizing committee has announced a presale for the second round of Olympic ticket sales, exclusively for Visa cardholders. This presale will occur from July 29-31, ahead of the official
ticket drop scheduled for August 10-20. Visa, a long-time sponsor of the Olympics, is the only credit card accepted for payment in Olympic zones. Fans interested in participating in the presale must confirm their Visa cardholder status and register at tickets.la28.org by July 22. Those who registered for the first ticket drop but were not selected or did not purchase their full ticket allotment are automatically entered into the second drop. The second ticket drop will offer a range of prices, starting at $28, across all Olympic sports, subject to availability.
Why It's Important?
The presale and subsequent ticket drop are significant as they provide fans with another opportunity to secure tickets for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, an event expected to draw significant global attention. The exclusive presale for Visa cardholders highlights the strategic partnerships that are crucial for funding and organizing such large-scale events. The LA28 committee aims to generate $2.5 billion in ticketing and hospitality revenue, contributing to the $7.1 billion operations budget. This initiative not only supports the financial goals of the Olympics but also ensures broader access to the games, fostering public engagement and excitement.
What's Next?
Fans who are randomly selected for the Visa presale will be notified of their time slot on July 27. Those not selected for the presale will still have a chance to participate in the second ticket drop, with notifications sent out from August 6-7. The LA28 committee will continue to manage ticket sales and logistics, ensuring a smooth process for fans. As the event approaches, further announcements regarding ticket availability and additional presales may be expected, keeping the public informed and engaged.
