What's Happening?
The Maryland Energetics Innovation Hub has officially broken ground in Charles County, marking a significant development in the region's economic and technological landscape. This new campus is designed to accelerate the production and innovation of energetics,
which are materials used in defense and other high-tech industries. The project is a collaboration between the Charles County Economic Development Department, the American Center for Manufacturing & Innovation (ACMI), and the Energetics Technology Center. It has received substantial funding from the Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Division, amounting to $50 million, to support its development.
