What's Happening?
Overview Energy has been awarded its first contract with the U.S. Air Force to explore the use of solar power for remote military installations. The startup, which emerged from stealth in December, plans
to collect solar power in geostationary orbit (GEO) and transmit it to Earth-based solar panels. This technology aims to provide continuous power to military bases, even at night, without requiring modifications to existing infrastructure. The contract will focus on two types of environments: remote bases like Eielson Air Force Base in Alaska, where fuel delivery is challenging, and strategically important bases such as Andersen Air Force Base in Guam, where power continuity is crucial for operational security.
