What's Happening?
Fast Offshore Supply (FOS) has chosen Incat Crowther to design a fleet of 10 new DP2 fast crew transfer vessels (CTVs) for Brunei Shell Petroleum. These vessels, made of aluminum and measuring 55 meters, will transport personnel and cargo to offshore
assets. The construction, which began in late 2025, is set to be completed by early 2027. The vessels will be built across multiple shipyards, including FOS's own in Singapore, using a digital shipbuilding process to ensure uniformity. Each vessel will carry up to 80 passengers and 150 tonnes of cargo, featuring advanced positioning and transfer systems.
Why It's Important?
This project represents a significant advancement in offshore logistics and vessel design, highlighting the growing demand for efficient and reliable transportation solutions in the energy sector. The collaboration between FOS and Incat Crowther underscores the importance of innovation and digital processes in modern shipbuilding, allowing for rapid deployment and consistent quality across multiple construction sites. This development is crucial for Brunei Shell Petroleum's operations, ensuring timely and safe transport of personnel and materials, which is vital for maintaining productivity and safety in offshore environments.
