Toyota Motor North America has officially opened its Woven City, a futuristic urban development located next to the former Higashi-Fuji factory in Japan. Announced at the 2020 CES technology show, Woven City is designed as a real-world laboratory for testing
and developing new technologies. The city welcomed its first residents, known as 'Weavers', in September 2025. Currently, around 100 people live in this planned community, which serves as a hub for engineers and companies to experiment with innovative ideas.
