What's Happening?
Double Fine Productions, known for titles like Psychonauts 2 and Brutal Legend, is set to release its new game 'Kiln' in April. The game, a multiplayer party brawler, allows players to create characters from pottery and engage in 4v4 battles. Following
a series of closed playtests, an open beta will be available on Steam from April 9-11. The full launch is scheduled for April 23 across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. 'Kiln' was initially conceived during a game jam in 2017 and has since evolved into a complex, cartoony brawler.
Why It's Important?
The release of 'Kiln' marks a significant addition to Double Fine's portfolio, showcasing their continued innovation in game design. The game's unique concept of pottery-based characters and mythologically themed battlefields offers a fresh take on the multiplayer brawler genre. This launch is likely to attract both fans of Double Fine's previous work and new players interested in creative and strategic gameplay. The open beta provides an opportunity for community feedback, which can enhance the game's development and reception.
