What's Happening?
Air Congo is set to expand its operations by entering the long-haul market with a new nonstop service between Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Brussels, Belgium. This marks the airline's first intercontinental route since it began operations in December
2024. The service, scheduled to start on July 1, will operate five times a week using Boeing 787-8 aircraft provided by Ethiopian Airlines, a strategic partner and shareholder of Air Congo. The decision to connect Kinshasa and Brussels is strategic, leveraging historical, business, and diaspora links between the DRC and Belgium, as well as offering onward connectivity to Europe and North America. The route will compete with Brussels Airlines, which currently operates daily flights on the same route.
