What's Happening?
SCADstory Atlanta has redefined the traditional campus tour by transforming it into an immersive cultural experience. This initiative by the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) integrates art installation,
live theater, and multisensory technology into a 4D narrative. The project aims to inspire prospective students and families by offering a performance-quality cultural experience that positions SCAD as a significant contributor to Atlanta's artistic life. The experience is free and open to the public, with donations supporting student scholarships. Thousands have attended, making SCADstory a part of the city's cultural fabric.
Why It's Important?
SCADstory Atlanta represents a paradigm shift in how educational institutions can engage with prospective students and the community. By treating education as theater and recruitment as art, SCAD has set a new benchmark for institutional storytelling. This approach not only enhances recruitment efforts but also contributes to the cultural landscape of Atlanta. The project has been recognized by industry peers as a model for immersive storytelling, influencing other institutions to explore similar strategies. It demonstrates that educational experiences can be both informative and emotionally resonant, fostering a deeper connection with audiences.
