What's Happening?
Flore Café, located within Sisters Thai at Capital One Center, has introduced a new seasonal high tea experience called 'Summer in Provence.' This concept, which began on June 6, 2026, transforms the café into a setting inspired by the South of France,
featuring a 14-course high tea menu. The experience is designed to evoke the lavender harvests of Gordes and Valensole, with a setting that includes a limestone terrace and a color palette of indigos, purples, yellows, and silver-sage. The menu includes a variety of savory and sweet dishes, such as Lavender-Infused Vichyssoise and Mariage Frères Opera Blue Tea Crème Brûlée. The high tea is available on weekends, and reservations are required.
Why It's Important?
The 'Summer in Provence' high tea experience at Flore Café highlights the growing trend of immersive dining experiences in the U.S. By offering a unique, multi-sensory event, the café is tapping into consumer desires for more than just a meal, but an experience that transports them to another place. This approach can attract a diverse clientele, including those interested in French culture and cuisine, and can enhance the café's reputation as a destination for high-quality, themed dining. The collaboration with Mariage Frères also underscores the importance of partnerships with established brands to enhance authenticity and appeal.
What's Next?
As the 'Summer in Provence' experience continues, Flore Café may see increased demand, potentially leading to extended hours or additional seating. The success of this event could inspire similar themed experiences in the future, both at Flore Café and other establishments. Additionally, the café's approach could influence other businesses to explore immersive dining as a way to differentiate themselves in a competitive market.
