Indiana University (IU) and Zimmer Biomet, a global leader in medical technology, have announced a strategic partnership aimed at advancing orthopedic research and innovation. This collaboration, initiated on April 20, 2026, focuses on developing new
technologies and approaches to improve joint replacement, bone healing, and mobility. The partnership also aims to prepare students for careers in Indiana's competitive orthopedic industry. A key component of this initiative is Zimmer Biomet's involvement in the Indiana Musculoskeletal Health Partnership for the Advancement of Care & Treatment (IMPACT), a consortium led by IU. This consortium, which includes over 100 partners from academia, industry, and government, seeks to bridge the gap between unmet medical needs and technological solutions, such as smarter implants and wearable diagnostics.
