What's Happening?
ZeniMax Online has announced that 'The Elder Scrolls Online' (ESO) will be available on PC Game Pass with Xbox Play Anywhere support starting in June. This update will allow players to share one game license, save file, and achievements across both console
and PC platforms. Previously, ESO was only available for console Game Pass subscribers, but this change will enable PC players to access the game with full Xbox Play Anywhere functionality. However, players will not be able to transfer progress from the non-Xbox PC version to the Xbox PC version, as the latter will run on Xbox servers.
Why It's Important?
The inclusion of 'The Elder Scrolls Online' in PC Game Pass with Xbox Play Anywhere support is a significant development for gamers, as it enhances accessibility and convenience. This move reflects the growing trend of cross-platform gaming, allowing players to enjoy seamless experiences across different devices. It also underscores Microsoft's strategy to expand its Game Pass offerings, potentially attracting more subscribers and increasing engagement. For the gaming industry, this development highlights the importance of flexibility and interoperability in meeting consumer demands and staying competitive.
