What's Happening?
Westtech has launched the Woodcracker CL140, the smallest cutting head in its CL series, designed for mini excavators with an operating weight of 1-4 tonnes. The CL140 can cut trees up to 180 mm in diameter in softwood and 150 mm in hardwood, with a gripper
opening of up to 440 mm. Weighing just 110 kg, the cutting head is made of high-strength Hardox steel and features a plug-and-play system for easy connection. An optional Autospeed feature is available to enhance performance by speeding up the cutting mechanism, increasing harvesting efficiency, and reducing fuel consumption.
Why It's Important?
The introduction of the CL140 cutting head could significantly enhance the efficiency and versatility of forestry operations, particularly in areas where larger machinery is impractical. By enabling mini excavators to perform tasks traditionally reserved for larger equipment, Westtech is expanding the capabilities of smaller forestry operations. This innovation could lead to cost savings and increased productivity for forestry companies, as well as reduced environmental impact due to lower fuel consumption.
