NASA has introduced a manual curve editor within its OpenVSP software, designed to allow users to modify existing cross-sections or create unique shapes with ease. This tool offers advanced customization
options, including multiple curve types such as linear, spline, and Bezier, as well as three-dimensional control and symmetry features. The editor aims to make cross-section modification user-friendly while providing extensive customization capabilities. Users can convert any cross-section type to an Edit Curve, facilitating the creation of complex shapes that standard parameterization cannot achieve. The tool was showcased at the 2022 OpenVSP Workshop, highlighting its potential for enhancing design precision in aerospace modeling.
