What's Happening?
The Westin Denver International Airport has completed the first phase of a significant property transformation, unveiling a redesigned 37,000 square feet of meeting and event space. This redesign aims to enhance focus, flow, and balance for meetings and events.
The hotel, directly connected to the airport's Jeppesen Terminal, remains the only full-service hotel with direct airport access, positioning it as a prime destination for corporate events in Colorado. The redesign draws inspiration from the Westin brand identity, incorporating water-inspired forms and geometric references to the local landscape. The updated spaces feature a sophisticated aesthetic with warm tans, layered greys, and deep navy tones, complemented by new furnishings and integrated greenery. The property includes 21 event rooms and 15 breakout spaces, with improvements to boardroom configurations to support fluid session transitions. The largest venue accommodates up to 850 attendees, with a 10,000-square-foot foyer offering panoramic mountain views.
Why It's Important?
This transformation at The Westin Denver International Airport reflects a broader trend in the hospitality industry towards creating spaces that support both performance and well-being. As Denver International Airport ranks as the fourth busiest business airport in the U.S., the demand for premium, full-service hospitality is significant. The redesign not only enhances the aesthetic and functional aspects of the meeting spaces but also emphasizes sustainability. The use of renewable materials and energy-efficient designs aligns with growing environmental consciousness among businesses and event planners. This initiative positions the hotel as a leader in sustainable hospitality, appealing to organizations that prioritize environmental responsibility in their event planning.
What's Next?
The Westin Denver International Airport's transformation is part of a $25 million property-wide renovation expected to be completed by Spring 2027. Future enhancements will extend to guestrooms, dining outlets, fitness facilities, and public spaces. The hotel will continue to focus on sustainability, with plans to introduce green screens and expand its 'Your Event, Your Impact' carbon offset program. This program offers environmentally conscious options such as digital signage and water bubblers to reduce waste. As the project progresses, the hotel aims to maintain its LEED Platinum certification and Four Green Key status, reinforcing its commitment to environmental stewardship.
