Booking.com has alerted some of its customers that unauthorized third parties may have accessed their travel reservation information. The Amsterdam-based online travel platform identified suspicious activity that allowed these parties to access details
such as names, email addresses, phone numbers, and other information shared with accommodations. Although the company has not confirmed a breach of its systems, it has taken measures to contain the issue by updating PIN numbers for affected reservations and notifying customers. Importantly, no financial or payment information was compromised. Booking.com is advising customers to remain vigilant against potential phishing attacks, emphasizing that it will never request credit card details via email, phone, or text.
